SIMON AND Mags Hope have left no stone unturned in ensuring the facilities at Aston Mullins Stud are top-class.

Under Mags day-to-day care, the aim is for the mares and their produce to have a relaxed and happy existence; to that end they are provided with the best available in every sense.

Mags runs the farm together with Nikki Allen, who acts as stud groom - plus there are three other motivated members of staff making up the Aston Mullins work-force.

The stabling block situated within the 300-acre countryside site has been fully modernised and contains 20 light and airy boxes. There is a bespoke foaling unit, containing CCTV.

Aston Mullins can also boast an indoor school, an outdoor menage, a weighing machine, as well as post-and-rail paddocks and turn out pens. The Stud offers an ideal environment for mares as well as their young.

Its service-providers all have exceptional credentials. Dodson & Horrell can point to over 70 years of expertise in formulating feeds. Veterinary issues are dealt with by the well-known Baskerville, Horgan & Partners.

Daniel Harman acts as the farrier to the Stud, while transport is taken care of by Olympic. Blandford Bloodstock Ltd is consulted as regards sales and purchases.

Simon and Mags Hope believe they have the infrastructure in place to ensure that Aston Mullins can thrive and progress as a stud operation for many years to come.
